Remember The Heroes

Ahhh, the 3-day Memorial Day weekend is here.  Last week we turned the heat on to warm up the house, now it's Summer.  And while we all spend Memorial Day weekend relaxing, grilling, and celebrating the coming of Summer, let's make sure we take a few minutes to reflect on why we can do all this. 

We have freedom given to us by many men and women, our fellow citizens.   Too many of them died fighting to keep that freedom.  We remember them on Memorial Day.  Here is the history of Memorial Day.  Observe it any way you want.  But observe it.  Put out your flag.   Thank a veteran.  Thank a current member of the military.  Check out a parade.  Help this war hero's father's effort to honor his son and all the others resting with his son with 50,000 flags.  Take a few minutes to sit quietly and think about the sacrifices so many have made.  Explain Memorial Day to your kids.  Tell them how lucky and privileged we are to live in a country this great.
